Caregiver's Collective

A therapeutic support group for parents and caregivers navigating stress, grief, and relationship strain.

Finding Your Way as a Caregiver

Caring for a child with a disability or special needs is an act of deep love—but it can also bring overwhelming stress, grief, and loneliness. Many caregivers carry their burdens silently, unsure where to turn or how to keep going.

At Laka Therapy & Wellness, we created Caregiver’s Collective to offer a place where you don’t have to carry it all alone.

Mother and a Child

What is Caregiver’s Collective?

Caregiver’s Collective is an 8-week therapeutic support group designed to help caregivers:

  • Reduce stress and feelings of isolation

  • Navigate the complex grief that comes with caring for someone you love

  • Strengthen relationships and communication

  • Build coping tools and self-care strategies

  • Connect with others who truly understand

Why This Group is Different

As both a licensed therapist and a parent of a child with special needs, I understand the unique challenges caregivers face—because I live them too. This group blends professional expertise with lived experience, creating a safe, validating space for caregivers to find healing and connection.

What to Expect

  • Weekly 1-hour sessions (virtual or in-person)

  • A small, supportive group (6–10 participants)

  • Gentle somatic practices and grounding exercises

  • Practical tools for stress, communication, and self-care

  • Space to share your story—or simply listen and know you’re not alone

Is This Group Right for You?

This group is for you if:

  • You’re caring for a child with special needs, developmental delays, disabilities, or health challenges

  • You feel isolated, overwhelmed, or burned out

  • You’re grieving the loss of “how things were supposed to be”

  • You want connection, support, and tools to care for yourself too
